As we enter the holiday season, there’s a lot to celebrate at MAT Fitness! We’re excited to share some recent accomplishments of our dedicated athletes and recognize the hard work that fuels our vibrant martial arts community.
First, our team recently attended the Grand Master Toby Cooling Memorial Karate Tournament in Maryland, where our very own Justin Lewis won the Men’s Overall Grand Championship in Sparring. This impressive achievement highlights not only Justin's dedication but also the high level of skill nurtured at our gym.
Our youth competitors also shone brightly at the tournament, bringing home a remarkable total of 9 trophies in Sparring and Kata. Among them was Jordyn Reed, who competed in her very first tournament and performed exceptionally well. We are excited to announce that the next tournament is scheduled for December 8th, providing another opportunity for our young athletes to showcase their talents.
We would like to take a moment to celebrate not only our students' achievements but also to congratulate Ben Moses, the Owner and Trainer at MAT Fitness, on his well-deserved promotion to purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Ben recently traveled to Dallas, Texas, to participate in Carlos Machado Affiliate training, where he earned this promotion. This milestone reflects Ben's unwavering dedication and passion for the sport, and we couldn't be prouder of his accomplishment.
As the holiday season approaches, please be aware that MAT Fitness will close for the Thanksgiving holiday, with an adjusted schedule during that week. We encourage everyone to stay committed to their training routines as we near the end of the month. The holidays can often disrupt our momentum, but maintaining a consistent practice can make all the difference.
If you're interested in learning more about our programs or how to stay engaged during the holidays, please reach out to Ben Moses. We look forward to seeing you on the mats and celebrating more successes together at MAT Fitness!
